Persuasive Speaking Score and Feedback
Hear how convincing your pitch, speech or appeal really is, and what would make it land harder.
Knowing your argument is solid is not the same as sounding convincing. This tool scores persuasive speaking from a recording. Upload a pitch, a fundraising appeal, a class speech or a practice run of a tough conversation, and the AI gives you an overall persuasion effectiveness score from 0 to 100. The report then explains it: the persuasive techniques you used, whether your tone and delivery supported the message, the cues that built or cost you credibility, how well you balanced emotional appeal with logic and evidence, and whether your call to action was clear enough to act on. It also compares you with highly persuasive speakers, marks your strongest moments with timestamps, and suggests specific ways to become more convincing.
Example result
Input
A three-minute recording of a nonprofit volunteer rehearsing a pitch asking a local business to sponsor a youth soccer league.
Output
Persuasion effectiveness: 68/100. Techniques identified: a personal story about a player who joined through a scholarship [00:35], a local-pride appeal, and a concrete sponsorship tier. No social proof: other sponsors are never mentioned. Tone and delivery: warm and sincere, but the pace rushes through the numbers, which undercuts them. Credibility: strong on passion, weaker on detail. "Something like a few hundred kids" sounds unprepared. Emotional appeal: effective; the story is the high point. Logic: the benefit to the business (visibility, community goodwill) is stated once and not backed up. Call to action [02:48]: "Let me know if you're interested" is soft. Ask for a specific tier and a date instead. Recommendations: add one sponsor name, state exact participant numbers slowly, and close with a direct ask.
Scores
How it works
How Persuasion Tone Scorer works
- 01
Record the real argument
Sign in and upload or record the pitch, speech or request exactly as you plan to deliver it. Choose which AI model will score it.
- 02
Spot the techniques
The AI names the persuasive moves you made, such as social proof, contrast, storytelling, a rhetorical question or scarcity, and notes where they were missing.
- 03
Weigh ethos, pathos and logos
It judges credibility (confidence, precision, hedging), emotional appeal and the quality of your reasoning, plus whether your tone matched what you were asking for.
- 04
Score the ask
Finally it rates your call to action, gives the overall score, timestamps the moments that worked best, and recommends what to change.
Use cases
Who it is for
Founders and salespeople pitching
Rehearse an investor pitch or a demo close and find out whether your ask is specific and your proof points sound credible before the meeting that counts.
Students with a persuasive speech assignment
Practice your persuasive speech out loud and check that your argument has evidence, emotion and a clear conclusion, not just a strong opening.
Fundraisers and advocates
Test a donation appeal or a public comment and see whether the story or the statistics carry more weight in your delivery.
Employees preparing a tough request
Rehearse the case for a raise, a budget or a new project so your reasoning sounds calm and confident rather than apologetic.
Tips
Get better results
- Record the version you will actually deliver, at full length; a summary of your pitch will score as a summary.
- Speak as though your listener is in the room. Reading a script flatly lowers tone and credibility ratings.
- Put your call to action into words even in practice; an implied ask is scored as a weak one.
- Try two versions with a single change, such as opening with the story versus the data, and compare the scores.
- Pay attention to hedges like "kind of" and "I think maybe"; removing them is one of the quickest credibility gains.
Limitations
What it can't tell you
The score is an AI judgment of how persuasive the recording sounds, not a prediction that a real audience will agree. Whether a pitch works also depends on the listener, the offer and timing, none of which the model can see. It reviews one recording at a time and does not track audiences or results. Use the feedback to communicate more clearly and honestly; it is not meant to help manipulate people. If you record a live conversation with someone else in it, get their consent where the law requires.
Frequently Asked Questions
Persuasion Tone Scorer questions
How persuasive am I?
Record yourself making a real case, such as a pitch, a speech or a request, and upload it. The report gives an overall persuasion score from 0 to 100 plus separate ratings for credibility, emotional appeal, logic, delivery and your call to action, so you can see which part is pulling your score down.
What makes speaking persuasive?
Persuasive speaking usually combines three things: credibility (you sound informed and sure), emotional connection (the listener cares) and sound reasoning (the case holds up). Delivery ties them together through pace, pauses and conviction, and a clear ask gives the listener something to do. The tool rates each of these separately.
Is this a persuasion test I can use to practice?
Yes. Treat each recording as a practice round: score it, apply one or two recommendations, record again and compare. Because the report timestamps your best moments, you can also keep the parts that already work while you rebuild the weak ones.
Can it help me write a persuasive speech?
It does not write speeches or suggest topics. It evaluates a speech you have already drafted and delivered out loud, including structure, evidence and delivery. Write your draft, rehearse it into the microphone, and use the feedback to revise both the words and how you say them.
How does persuasive tone differ from confidence?
Confidence is one ingredient. A persuasive tone also fits the request: urgent where urgency is real, warm when you need trust, steady when you present numbers. You can sound confident and still fail to persuade if your tone clashes with the message. For confidence alone, try the voice confidence analyzer.
